I'm shouting "FREEDOM!"
No, I'm not quoting Mel Gibson from his Braveheart movie. No, I'm not visiting the Liberty Bell in Philly again. I am declaring relief from my normal-everyday responsibilities! I'm done with another school year and I just finished dog/ house sitting for the past week.
To celebrate my liberation I went for an extra long walk when I finally got home! Summer has come...so freedom reigns! I'm so grateful I have a break from work, even though it seems it shrinks every year; I know not all professions have this refreshing benefit. God knows I need it though. I desperately need this unstructured time to truly relax, unwind, and rejuvenate.
So I walked this afternoon with high hopes, smiles and dreams of what all my summer will contain. No watch, no phone, no key, no calendar, no dogs, no students, only thoughts of what to plan this summer! I was comforted by creation's big blue sky, the hot and humid summer sun, and the relief... (the heaviest weight lifted) I've done my job and I'm not on schedules any longer.
Now I only have my own summer agendas-FREEDOM-in my eyes!
